Father John Streifel
Father John Streifel joined the pastorate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Saint Clare parishes in 2023. Ordained in 2018, his previous assignments were St. John the Evangelist in Frederick, and St. Joseph on Carrollton Manor in Buckeystown.
Father Sampson Onwumere
Father Sampson Onuwmere was and raised in the Southeastern part of Nigeria. He moved to the United States in the fall of 2015 for graduate study in theology and upon graduation and started his discernment to priesthood with the Archdiocese of Baltimore. He was ordained a transitional deacon in 2022, and was ordained a Priest on June 24th, 2023. He enjoys cooking, singing, listening to music, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
Deacon Paul Mann
After a six year stint in the Naval Reserve and followed by 18 years in broadcasting, Deacon Paul returned to graduate school and earned a Master of Divinity degree from St. Mary's Seminary, Roland Park in 1993. He subsequently entered the diaconal formation program of the Archdiocese and was ordained a deacon in 1996. He has served as the pastoral associate and after ordination as the parish deacon at St. Lawrence, 1989-1997; St. Gabriel 1997-2002; Assistant to Bishop Newman and Bishop Rozanski from 2002-2010 while also serving as a deacon at St. Rita 2002-2005 and St. Brigid 2005-2010. In 2010 he was assigned to St. Clare in Essex as the deacon and as the pastoral associate. He was assigned to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in July 2019. Deacon Paul resides in Old Dundalk with his wife Irene and their three grandchildren.

Deacon Oscar Velasquez
Dcn. Oscar is originally from Honduras, Central America, and moved to the United States when he was ten years old. In 2003, He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Towson University. He began working as an IT specialist for the Social Security Administration in 2004 and has remained there ever since.
In addition to his career in information technology, he felt a strong calling to serve the church and community. He began diaconate formation in 2020 and was ordained permanent deacon on September 30, 2023. Following ordination, he began serving the pastorate of St. Clare and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in October 2023 and continue to do so.
Dcn. Oscar is happily married to Fatima, and has a daughter named Roselyn.
Doug Demeo, Pastoral Associate
In more than four years of Jesuit formation in the 1990s, Doug traveled summer months in Kingston, Jamaica and Central America, and received his M.A. degree in Christianity & Culture. Since leaving the Jesuits, he served variously as a congressional aide, Catholic high school teacher, social ethics-related investment advisor, and campus minister at St. Peter’s University. In April 2017, he married Maria Williams at St. Gabriel Church in Windsor Mill, where they first met. After moving to Essex, where Doug and Maria are happy and grateful to be part of the OLMC community, he began serving as pastoral associate in July, 2018. Doug enjoys sports, nature and writing. He has published in National Catholic Reporter and America Magazine.

Janine Kramer, Director of Religious Education
Janine Kramer was born and raised in a faithful Catholic family from Queens, NY. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Education at St. John’s University, she continued her passion of learning our faith and obtained a Master of Arts inTheology from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, NY. With a number of years’ experience as a Catholic school teacher, her devotion for teaching children continued on, serving as a parish Director of Religious Education both in the Dioceses of Brooklyn and Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Janine feels honored and blessed to be joining the parish community of Our Lady of Mount Carmel & St. Clare Pastorate.

Catherine Husson, Operations Manager
Catherine Husson has been attending Our Lady of Mount Carmel since 2015 where she is a Lector and Parish volunteer. Originally from Robertsdale, AL, she is a Navy veteran and served in Europe and Asia as a Cryptologic Linguist, Intelligence Analyst and Operations Watch Chief. She obtained an Associate of Arts from American Military University with concentrations in Intelligence Studies and Russian Military Studies. She has been married to her husband Tom for 24 years, has 2 children, Tommy and A. J. who attend the OLMC Upper School, and has a pet Corgi named Walter. She enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and kayaking with her family.

Maria Rapp, Administrative Assistant
Maria Rapp is the Administrative Assistant at OLMC Parish Center. Relocating to the Middle River area, Maria joined the Parish 7 years ago. Prior to joining, Maria was a parishioner, and attended school, at Our Lady of Fatima in East Baltimore where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Sacristan, Lector and secretary of their sodality. Maria having worked in the field of medicine, since age 15, brings diverse experience that includes clinical, financial, administrative and managerial tools and knowledge. A member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Sodality, Maria also feels very privileged to serve as a Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister and Lector in what she describes as a “Parish that fulfills all her Spiritual needs and guidance”.

Anne Cupp, Media Specialist
Anne Cupp is the Media Specialist for the OLMC/St. Clare Pastorate, overseeing the creation and distribution of the weekly Flocknote newsletter as well as managing the website and all social media. Raised Methodist, Anne converted to Catholicism in 2018 after completing the OCIA course at OLMC. She is married to her childhood friend and long time OLMC teacher, Jon Cupp, Jr. They live with their rescue dog Louie in Middle River.
